    The Strategic Objective under this theme is ‘To achieve good governance, rule of law and citizen participation in political, economic and social development’.

    The strategies we use to achieve this objective include educating the citizens on the new constitutional dispensation (Constitution of Kenya 2010) especially on the Bill of Rights, promoting involvement of women in governance and political leadership; enhancing citizen awareness and engagement on access to/administration of justice, enhancing access to legal aid for the marginalized and vulnerable communities,Improving community justice systems and alternative dispute resolution mechanism and ensure they comply with established human rights standards.

    The strategies we use in achieving this outcome include, development of a comprehensive and integrated training programme for peacebuilding and conflict management in the region, Social mobilization towards peaceful coexistence, Strengthen involvement of women, youth and vulnerable groups in resolution, management and transformation of conflicts, Promote traditional and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms within the rule of law and developing research and documentation on peace and conflict management.

    Some of the activities we are implementing to achieve the strategic objective are:

    • Awareness and sensitization workshops on the newly enacted Legal Aid Act 2016,

    • Holding training seminars for legal Aid Volunteers,

    • Trainings in self-representation for the vulnerable and marginalized and linking them with trained legal Aid Providers

    • Forming consortium with other CSOs to increase our human rights voices

    • Holding Public forums, barazas and live engagement of citizens with county and national governments representatives/elected leaders.

    • Organizing CSOs and community networking meetings and forums

    • Holding capacity building workshops for civic leaders
