Peacebuilding and Conflicts Management.
The prevention, management, mitigation and resolution of conflict requires a well-coordinated and concerted effort by all actors and stakeholders involved in the conflict. NODO aspires to be a leader of regional peace and prosperity through constant engagement in dialogue efforts, post-conflict reconstruction and trauma healing.
Under this theme NODO seeks to ‘establish a well-coordinated and effective strategy for addressing conflicts and promoting peace & security.’
The strategies we use in achieving this outcome include, development of a comprehensive and integrated training programme for peacebuilding and conflict management in the region, Social mobilization towards peaceful coexistence, Strengthen involvement of women, youth and vulnerable groups in resolution, management and transformation of conflicts, Promote traditional and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms within the rule of law and developing research and documentation on peace and conflict management.
The activities we have planned for implementation are:
• Facilitating peace barazas, sports activities, peace caravans and cultural events for building community integration and cohesion;
• supporting Nyumbakumi initiatives
• supporting youth sport activities to support peace
• Conduct training and awareness raising on Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution (CPMR) for all stakeholders;
• Conduct Peace Rallies and Road side shows and preaching of peace.
• Conduct Community Peace Dialogue, and
• Facilitating peace processes and implementation of peace agreements, among others.
