Health, Gender and Community Education
The outcome under this theme is ‘healthy living promoted, and women and girls empowerment and community empowerment achieved through community education’.
The strategies include focused interventions towards mainstreaming Health campaigns in school and community education, reproductive health and gender rights’ campaigns, initiating orphaned and vulnerable children support programs, gender mainstreaming in County, CSOs programs, promoting women rights and political participation, promoting HIV Prevention Attitudes and Care, pprevention program with adolescents and young people aged 10-24 years, initiating Community Interventions to support HIV/AIDs Treatment, care and support,Supporting widowed women and People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs); supporting the implementation of child welfare services and programmes and ensuring gender mainstreaming in all our development operations.
The activities include:
• HIV/AIDs awareness and sensitization forums, workshops and seminars
• Training Community Health workers
• Support for the PLWHIV
• Campaigns against Drug and substance abuse
• Create awareness on polio, measles and other disease
• Hygiene and sanitation sensitization meetings
• Organize talk clinics for form four leavers,
• Supporting needy and orphan students
• Supporting international days of education, such international literacy day.
• Conduct Sensitization sessions for Community Health Volunteers
• Undertake Social Mobilization to create demand for HIV Treatment Services
• Support integrated ART services to existing outreaches.
• Conduct trainings and capacity building for women on governance, micro-finance and gender development.
• Establish bursaries and scholarships for the girl-child and,
• Establish micro-finance schemes for women.
